What a time for celebration today; we have finished the roof of the recording studio!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the special nature of this building, since it is a recording studio, we needed to do some special things to the roof. Normally here in Ikelenge, we get about 6 months of rain each year. Rain, whether heavy or light, always makes a noise on a tin roof \u2013 often making it sound like the rain is harder than it is. So, it was important to find ways of decreasing the sound from the roof so that those recording could do so whether it was raining or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully, a product called \u201cAlububble<\/a>\u201d is available to put on top of the purloins and underneath the roofing sheets. This product greatly decreases the sound that the rain makes on the roof. It also has one side which is very reflective in order to reflect the heat from the metal roof back up so that the house doesn\u2019t get hot even though the sun is shining very brightly. Both properties mean that the building should not be too noisy even though it is raining heavily outside and should not get too hot even though the sun is shining brightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Putting on the \u201cAlububble\u201d then the roofing sheets took much more time than just roofing sheets, however it is working just like it should. Since \u201cAlububble\u201d is a new thing for this area, those installing it have learned some unique skills. It has also made for some very funny comments from those passing by and for some very curious questions from others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
