{"id":2959,"date":"2026-01-23T17:50:43","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T17:50:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chejejifm.com\/?p=2959"},"modified":"2026-05-28T07:55:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T07:55:08","slug":"preparing-for-the-curtains","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chejejifm.com\/ln_zm\/preparing-for-the-curtains\/","title":{"rendered":"Preparing for the curtains"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rains are still in full swing here in Ikelenge and though it is not possible to work outside or on the exterior of the building (glazing windows etc\u2026) there is still some work in the inside which we can do.<\/p>\n<p>In preparation for the painting, we are currently working on getting all the curtain rod hangers up and in their proper places so that when painting is done we can simply hang them. It is a lot of drilling and there is a lot of dust getting all these curtains hung (6 window curtains and 2 full wall curtains), but now is certainly the time to do it!<\/p>\n<p>Curtains and curtain rods are a large visual item in a room so it was very important to choose something which works well with the bold colour scheme which we have chosen for the building.<\/p>\n<p>While we were putting them up I received a lot of questions from the youth I was working with, specifically about the double hangers I was putting up, so I thought I\u2019d give a brief overview of what we put up so others can be aware. The double curtain rod hangers allow for hanging a sheen curtain as well as a regular curtain in front of a window.<\/p>\n<p>The 3 types of curtains going into this building are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sheen curtains (thin white curtains which hang nearest to the window and allow light to come in and yet still provide privacy) which will go in only some of the windows, over which will be another type of curtain for regular use<\/li>\n<li>thick dark grey curtains for the studios to help with the damping of sound as well as their normal use<\/li>\n<li>thick light grey curtains with hexagons to hang in non-studio rooms and match the decorations in the studio rooms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The curtains are quite long, are really a feature in the room and look nice even though the walls are bare; I can\u2019t wait to see them in the rooms when they are painted!!!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rains are still in full swing here in Ikelenge and though it is not possible to work outside or on the exterior of the building (glazing windows etc\u2026) there is still some work in the inside which we can do.
