Recording Studio ready for roofing

Even though the rains have been quite regular over the past few months, we are thankful that the work on the recording studio is progressing. With some more supplies and some good hard work, we have finished the structure of the roof!

Once that was done, the builders got busy to finish all the walls and gables right up to where the roofing sheets will go. There were a lot of questions as to how to get the builders high enough to build the 6m tall gables. However, the simplest was for them to stand on a movable platform which rode on the bottom chord (plank) of the truss. This movable platform allowed them to move around the whole building and reach even to the highest corner of the gable; it worked very well!

Window like openings were left for the triangular air vents near the top corner of each gable as they have not yet been made due to the lack of power in Ikelenge district. Zengamina, our source of hydro power has had a break down, so almost the whole district has been out of power for about 2 weeks already. When it does come back it will be time to get the door and window frames made along with the air vents.

Next step for the recording studio: the roofing!!! The roofing sheets and all that is needed have already arrived, so weather permitting it will be put on shortly.
